A magnificent Attabad lake was formed in the wake of a major landslide triggering a massive wave of disaster in the Upper Hunza Valley inflicting greater losses to lives and property. Subsequently the turquoise colored beautiful lake changes into a tourist resort. Where hundreds of tourists a day indulge in watersports boating swimming and  photography. Owing to this large scale fun  activities numerous hotels restaurants and shops have sprung up to serve and boom business. Around the gorgeous lake. This new water resort to some extent has helped land residents to recover the losses they inflicted.
